THE CAMPERS ARE HERE!!! Summer 2010 started off with a little bit of Woodland Dew but the campers have been enthusiastic and ready for fun! Yesterday we played a game of “Alien Invasion” hosted by the CIT’s and watched last year’s Camp Reunion video. Then we enjoyed picnic and the counselor-hosted Campfire. It was a BLAST! The first day was a complete success and a great start to the summer!

Pre-Camp has officially started! The counselors have arrived and things are starting to look mighty spiffy around the grounds. We’ve cleaned the cabins, organized the activity areas, and are starting to brainstorm activities for when the campers arrive. We’ve also welcomed several new counselors and staff members into the Woodland family! In the kitchen we have Po, Amanda, Hillary, and Kraig. And for our new counselors we have welcomed Lisa and Sam. Also, we have a new nurse, Wendy, who will be working with Barb in the Healthcare Center. As we progress further into pre-camp, the excitement level grows and our eagerness for the campers to arrive increases exponentially! More updates will be posted as the summer goes on and we hope that our fun at pre-camp influences the campers to have an awesome summer of their own. Because this summer’s motto is: Start a New Trend in 2010!

We’re kicking off to a great summer!

Dear O.D Log,

Today I woke up and went to ring the bell.  Courtney was hostess but Jordan woke her up. After assembly I went to the office with Mrs.J and I did cabin inspections by myself because Barb wasn’t here. After I went to the office again and had a bunch of newsletters home to sort out and the problem was that most of them didn’t have an envelope or a name. So it was really hard to sort! After rest hour I went to do ski help, good job Sarah who kneeborded for the first time and did a great job. For the fourth period the candy ran out so I went really quickly with Susan to get more candy for the next hour. Then came my hour off, I took a shower and cleaned my drawers.

Well see you next time,

Jimena.

Dear O.D. Log,
This was the most memorable O.D. I’ve had. It was a chilly morning while I went to wake up the Hostess. At a windy and brief assembly, Daphne was camper of the day and normal O.D. duties. After arranging the mail and sweeping the lodge, Melissa asked if I could go to the Sail Race at T.P, and I got to go! After sailing with no wind with Sarah, Tori, and Molly then we went to the lodge for a delicious lunch. Sooner than later I found myself in the freezing sand lake helping girls go tubing. After a successful delivery of canteen and some technical difficulty with the mambo I was enjoying my hour off. But the storm approaching was filling my head with non-relaxing loud thoughts. But luckily activated didn’t stop and I had my cabin all to myself!

I loved the day!

Good night,

Whoachoa

P.S. The E.N girls got back. I missed you girlies!

Dear O.D. Log,

As every morning I woke up at 7:30 to ring the bell and I woke up Katie the happy hostess and my cabin the hoppers. In assembly Sam got camper of the day, good job! I did mail and I cleaned all the trashcans, counselor lounge, and the screens in the lodge. Yes, it was a hard day. We had lunch followed by a sleepy rest hour. Next I did ski help and all the girls did an excellent job, then grace in Tamarack decided to splash me for no reason, but whatever because I still had fun. In my hour off I took a long shower and relaxed. It was a good day.

See you next time,

Shantisimo
