Driftwood: Final Banquet

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You start bawling and laughing hysterically at the same time because camp is almost over.
• You hate saying good-bye to camp friends.
• You can’t sleep in a room by yourself after returning home after camp.
• You think you hear the Woodland bell ringing when you get home to tell you to get up or to go to your activities.
• You are at home you think about camp, but when you are at camp, you don’t really think too much about home.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You realize that you will keep the friends you made at camp forever.
• You refuse to eat your Mom’s cooking because you miss Dan’s food.
• You can’t wait for summer again.
• You look at camp photos on your iPad and you want to be back at camp.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You make new friends.
• You are sad to leave.
• You share a laugh with your cabin.
• You travel a long way to get to camp.
• You pass a level.
• You collapse into bed at night from exhaustion due to all of the activities.

• You are sitting by the lake and feel like you are at home.
• You give up a lot of things to come to camp (like traveling and being with your family).
• You feel like you are at home.
• You feel welcome.
• You feel integrated into the camp family.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You smile and laugh with your friends.
• Everybody knows all the names of campers and staff.
• You make lasting memories.
• We are in our activities.
• You cry when it is over.

• You can’t stop laughing.
• Everyone huddles up and cries together when camp is over.
• You think about all of the memories and smiles.
• Counselors are always helping us.
• You are still coming back to camp 10 years later.

• You wait all year for camp to start again.
• You call your camp friends, sisters.
• You make new friends.
• You come back and it feels like you never left.
• You learn new skills like getting up on the wakeboard.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• It is the last day and you cry because you are going to miss everyone.
• You are improving your skills.
• You laugh so hard your stomach hurts.
• You are back at home and you are in your bed all alone at night with no bunkmates nearby.
• You forget what day of the week it is.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You can be yourself.
• You go home and sing camp songs.
• You tell your parents not to put you in the car to go home.
• You see people who went to camp for a lot of years.
• You don’t like when people mention the last day.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You cry with friends at the last campfire.
• You know you can tell anything to your camp friends.
• You wear the weirdest clothes because you know that you can be yourself.
• You put underwear on your head and are not embarrassed.
• When there are no worries or problems.

• You make new friends.
• You laugh and have fun together.
• You go home and can’t stop talking about it.
• People don’t understand that it is a “camp thing”.
• You get to ride Big Red.
• You are shooting arrows in archery.

You Know You Love Camp When:

• You are telling camp stories at home.
• You go home and look at all of the photos online and think of all of the memories.
• You don’t know what to do when you are at home and are bored.
• You play with the goats at Farm Zoo.
• You are eating Dan’s homemade food (especially Oreo Cookie pie)!
